The best age for a hair transplant, when are you ready?
There is no exact age limit, but timing is crucial for a natural and durable result. Here we go through when it is the right, and the wrong, time.

One of the most important factors for a successful and durable result is not the technique or the clinic, it is the timing. Having a hair transplant at the right point in life can be the difference between a result that looks natural for decades and one that ages badly.
Why age matters
Hereditary hair loss is a process that unfolds over time. If we transplant too early, before the pattern has stabilised, your own hair around the transplanted area can keep thinning, creating gaps and unevenness. The donor area is also a limited resource; using too much too early leaves less when it is really needed.
Under 25, often too early
In younger men the hair loss is rarely fully developed. We usually recommend first slowing it with PRP and possibly medication, monitoring the progression and waiting. It is not about refusing treatment, but about protecting your long-term result.
30-50, often the best period
Here the pattern has usually stabilised enough for us to plan a hairline and density that lasts, while the donor is still good. Many of our most satisfied patients are in this age range.
Over 50, rarely an obstacle
Age in itself is no limit. With a healthy donor area and realistic expectations we achieve excellent results later in life too.
At a free consultation we assess your scalp, your prognosis and your goals, and are honest about whether the timing is right for you now.
