A hair transplant step by step, what the treatment day looks like
What actually happens during a hair transplant? Here we go through the whole day, hour by hour, so you know exactly what to expect.

Knowing what actually happens during the treatment day removes a lot of the nervousness. Here is a walkthrough of a typical hair transplant with us, step by step.
Arrival and planning
The day begins with us drawing your new hairline together and confirming the plan and number of grafts. It is your last chance to ask questions and adjust. We photograph the starting point for documentation.
Preparation and anaesthesia
The donor area (back of the head) is trimmed, and we wash and disinfect. Then local anaesthesia is given in both the donor and recipient area. The anaesthetic injections are the only thing that stings, and it passes within seconds.
Extraction of grafts
With a micro-punch (FUE) or Choi pen (DHI) we extract the follicles one by one from the donor area. They are stored in a nutrient solution that keeps them alive. This is the most time-consuming step.
Lunch and break
We pause for lunch and to stretch your legs. You feel no discomfort thanks to the anaesthesia.
Placement
The follicles are placed in the recipient area at a carefully planned angle, direction and density, this is where the craftsmanship and experience determine how natural the result becomes.
Review and going home
We go through the aftercare, you receive medication and written instructions, and book a follow-up. Then you go home the same day.
At a free consultation we go through exactly what your treatment day will look like.
