Hair transplant in Turkey or Sweden? An honest comparison
Turkey has become one of the world's largest destinations for hair transplants, and the question comes up in almost every consultation: should I go abroad and save money? Here is our objective comparison. We obviously benefit from you choosing us, so we try to keep it honest and let you draw your own conclusions.
The price
It is no secret that a hair transplant is often cheaper in Turkey, sometimes a third of the price in Sweden. The explanation is lower labour costs, high volume and a very competitive market. When you factor in flights, hotel and any extra trips, the price gap narrows, but it remains.
The quality
Here the picture is more nuanced. There are world-class Turkish clinics, and there are clinics where a large part of the procedure is performed by technicians rather than doctors, on an assembly-line basis. The problem for you as a patient is that it is hard to vet from a distance, via a website and WhatsApp. The result can be excellent, or a hairline that does not age naturally.
Follow-up and safety
This is where the biggest difference lies. A hair transplant heals over a full year, and it is during that time that problems can arise. With a Swedish clinic you have in-person follow-up, someone to call, and Swedish insurance cover and IVO supervision behind you. If a complication arises after a trip abroad, it is considerably harder to get help and hold anyone accountable.
What you are actually comparing
Our point is not that Turkey is bad, it is that price should not be the only point of comparison for a procedure that permanently affects your appearance. Compare the whole: who performs the procedure, what is included, what the follow-up looks like, and what happens if something goes wrong.
With us you get a fixed price with everything included, treatment by licensed staff, four PRP injections and three follow-ups during the first year, in Gothenburg. At a free consultation we go through your case and give a binding price, so you can compare apples with apples.

Frequently asked questions about pricing
Why is a hair transplant cheaper in Turkey?
Lower labour costs, high volume and sometimes several technicians sharing one procedure. That says nothing about quality in itself, but means price should not be the only point of comparison, follow-up, safety and accountability if complications arise all differ.
Is a hair transplant in Turkey dangerous?
Many Turkish clinics maintain a high standard, but the market is uneven and hard to vet from a distance. The risks concern the lack of Swedish follow-up, language barriers, difficulty holding anyone accountable for complications, and travelling during a sensitive healing period.
What is included if I do it in Sweden with you?
A fixed price with consultation, anaesthesia, medication, four PRP injections and three follow-up visits during the first year, all in Swedish/English, with Swedish insurance cover and IVO supervision. No hidden add-ons.
